We're (really) getting married!

So, if you read my last post you know that we finally set a wedding date!! Trying to plan around golf and football sure was stressful (well mostly a waiting game which requires patience which is something I don't have much of) but we ended up getting the date that was our first choice.

September 27, 2014 - Ryan and I will officially tie the knot!

There was never a question about the location.  Chapel Hill is the most beautiful place on earth any day of the year but absolutely nothing beats Chapel Hill in the fall (see below)!

We have booked the reception venue (Chapel Hill Country Club), the rehearsal dinner/welcome party location (Top of the Hill), a band and photographer!  We are looking around for florists, cake bakers, invitations, hair & make-up people and transportation...any suggestions are more than welcome!  I'm meeting my maid of honor on Friday to look for bridesmaids dresses and will be going dress shopping in the next two weekends!

Those are about all of the updates I have right now but I will keep them coming here on the blog!  We are really looking forward to getting married and sharing in this special day with all of our family and friends!

XOXO,

Carly

2014 Travels: San Diego

Sorry I'm a little late on this post.  Ryan and I got back from the west coast last week and were super busy.  We had tons of stuff to do around the house, lots of wedding planning and a party to prepare for so I didn't get time to write.  So, expect a couple of posts in the next few days!

San Diego was gorgeous!  Everyone that I had talked to who had been there before said it was one place I couldn't miss and they were right! San Diego is this really cool, coastal city that has so much to do!  We explored different parts of the city, went to quite a few restaurants that were recommended to us and, of course, spent lots of time at Torrey Pines.

Luckily, Monday was a holiday so I didn't have to work our first day there.  Some of the other girls and I decided to go to the zoo that day because we had heard that it was the best zoo in the country.  Luckily, we were able to get tickets through the PGA tour so off we went and we had a great time! The zoo is located near a bunch of other great attractions for children - you could easily spend a couple of days there and have tons to do! They had pretty much every animal you could think of and we tried to see as many as possible.  Below were some of my favorites.

One of the restaurants that was highly recommended to us was a place called Brockton Villa. We were told to go there and try the famous Coast Toast (pictured below) and it did not disappoint!  It was without a doubt the best french toast I have ever had! We actually ended up going twice because it was so good.  If you are ever in San Diego, you can't miss a chance to have breakfast here!

The restaurant is located in La Jolla, on the cove. There were tons of other great restaurants and shops in the area. We went to that area at least four times while we were there.  Right outside of the restaurant is the most beautiful walkway that goes around the coast and has great views of the ocean and the city.  The waves were huge when we were there and it was definitely the best view of San Diego that we got to see!

Unfortunately, the golf didn't turn out as we had hoped but we had already had two great weeks of golf and after being on the road for more than three weeks, it was nice to be able to come back home!  We got a lot done last week while Ryan and I were both in Charlotte (more posts to come on that)!  Ryan is back on the west coast at Pebble Beach and I'm staying in Charlotte this week.

Oh and the most exciting thing we did in San Diego - set a wedding date!!! September 27, 2014 is going to be the most amazing day ever - I can't wait!!!!!
